Guitar Pro 5 Review
When you're learning how to play guitar tabs are really great
because they show you how to play a song without knowing how
to read notes and playing a guitar.
Guitar Pro 5 plays your tabs to you, so you can hear how to strum.
Only this feature alone makes it a great tool, but there is more...
Guitar Pro 5 is the most intuitive, simple and powerful tablature editor available. It's a complete workshop where you can create scores,
lead- and lesson sheets. On top of the guitar-, bas-,
banjo-, drum- , piano- and vocal notation it has a notation
for any stringed instruments with four to seven strings!
Your whole band will be set up in minutes...
It also has the newest playback technology RSE
(realistic sound engine) to give you real-time playback of your
scores with realistic sound samples from high-quality guitars and
even effects such as wah-wah.You can enter notes by using piano keys, mouse clicks on a fretboard,
or directly through a MIDI instrument. It can handle up to 256 tracks
and it is even possible to enter non-guitar tracks! It's designed for tablatures but you can switch to standard notation
as well, if you enter a note in standard notation, it's automatically entered in tablature.
You just enter the note duration and the rhythmics are automatically calculated and displayed!
Other great things about guitar pro 5 are:
The sound is real realistic. You can visually add notes with the fretboard and piano.
You can download thousands of tablatures available on the Internet in Guitar Pro format.
You can convert a Guitar Pro file into an audio file (playable without Guitar Pro) and burn it as an
audio CD it's easy to work with and you can print your scores.
It allows you to save your tablatures to a bitmap image.
If you'd like your pc to accompany you, you can set track audio parameters, like: the volume,
the chorus, the reverb and you can also mute one or several instruments.
There are also a number of tools in guitar pro 5, like:
A chord genarator so you can easily find any chord.
(by clicking on the grid, you'll be given all the corresponding names).A scales tool to view/hear a lot of different scales.
A tuner (you can plug in your mide instrument into the pc or use a microphone).
A metronome for your tempo, where you also can import and export.
There is one thing I don't like too much about Guitar Pro 5:
You can't paste lyrics in, you must type them.
Guitar Pro 5 has all the tools you need to compose, improve and accompany yourself.
It's compatible with Windows and Mac.
The price is $ 59,00 and an update from an older version costs $ 29,50.
You can try Guitar Pro 5 for free here.
