Ibanez AEG10e Review

 

 

This is a great acoustic electric guitar, it's thinner than most acoustic guitars so the sound is not as full as you'd probably expect an acoustic to be unplugged, but it sounds great. Plugged it is really full and rich, it´s just enchanting !!!

 

Mine is finished in transperant blue sunburst with binding all the way around. It´s a real solid feeling guitar.
The body shape is Ibanez Original AEG body, it has a spruce top and the back & sides are mahogany, as well as the neck.
It has a Fishman® Sonicore Pickup, an Ibanez SST Preamp and the tuners are chrome Ibanez Smooth Tuner AS.
The nut & saddles are Ibanez Ivorex II and the bridge pins are Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins. The Ibanez AEG10E has Ibanez Strap Buttons for Acoustic Guitars,
the rosette is Abalone and the fretboard is rosewood.

 

With the Ibanez Shape Shifter preamp, you spend less time tweaking controls and more time playing. The 3-band tone control features a tone shaper that's much
like the volume contour on your stereo. However, instead of just an on-and-off switch, the tone shaper features an actual loudness contour control so you can precisely determine the level of the contour and get the right sound. The SST, designed to complement the Fishman® Sonicore pickup, offers quiet operation
and features a phase reverse switch for reducing feedback.
A separate battery compartment allows for easy battery changes (2 x AA).


This is a very light and thin guitar, which makes it great to play!

I tested a few other guitars in the shop and this one certainly offered
the best value for money, by a long stretch.
The range of tones is impressive and it continues to sound like an accoustic

no matter what you do with it.

 

 

 

Conclusion:

 

This is a great guitar, especially for it´s price!

It has a great sound, especially plugged in, has a great playability.
Just like most Ibanez guitars, the sounds and features are worth far more than the price tag would suggest.


It's my favorite acoustic guitar and I really like it´s sound and looks, I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great acoustic electric guitar for an affordable price!
