Ibanez Artcore Review
![]()
The Ibanez Artcore AFS75T is a semi-acoustic, hollow body guitar. It has a Artcore set-in Mahogany neck, Maple body (top/sides/back)
22 large frets bound Rosewood finger board, ART2 Vintage Vibrato (roller)
bridge ACH1 neck humbucker, ACH2 bridge humbucker, Pearl Block Inlay and
a Bigsby-style trem.
This guitar has a beautiful finish and is made out of great wood and it is very
thin and light, which makes it a pleasure to play. The Ibanez is a serious contender in the Gibson 335/355 league and
it´s a great alternative to spending thousands on a vintage 355.The sound of the Ibanez is most bewitching, it has a rich, earthy blues tone
at one end, and sharp, Bernard Butler-esque attack at the other. The tremelo just keeps in tune and is extremely easy to use (like the old Gretsch).
Technically this isn't your average thinline (semi-)hollowbody.
Instead of putting a big block of wood down through the middle of the body,
Ibanez developed a special bracing pattern for the top that cuts down on
feedback and adds sustain while retaining more authentic hollowbody sounds.
Acoustically, it is well-balanced with woody overtones and bright character
courtesy of the specially braced laminated maple top and metal bridge saddles. This guitar is voiced-clear, with a healthy bite and midrange body and although
the looks of it scream rock, has a lot of versatility and individuality.
With the rear pickup engaged this is a rock machine, the sound is crisp, gutsy
and it practically begs for overdrive. But when you flip to the neck pickup and
play with the tone control things change!
Strong yet mellow tones flourish up there and shine through the clean channel.
Heavenly with a little reverb. Ibanez simply went out and made an instrument
that is the best it can be, suitable for whatever you want to do with it.
Conclusion:
This is one of the best buys out there!
I'm totally obsessed by it's excellent playability, rich, creamy sound and eye-popping good looks
and I can't seem to put it down (my other guitars are just wall-decoration since I own this one
and the artcore even does that job much better ...).
The sounds and features are worth far more than the price tag would suggest.
This guitar is really fantastic !!! It´s a very good choice for your money and
the price/quality proportion is excellent (you'd think you were stealing if you didn't know better)
The sound is truly amazing and on top of that it looks really great, has great action and plays like a charm.
It's my personal favorite guitar, I'm really in love with it's looks, sound and playability
and I'd certainly recommand it to anyone, it's fantastic !!!
